The good ship RHOA could sink now that it has sprung a Leakes.

NeNe Leakes claimed on Tuesday that The Real Housewives of Atlanta may not stay afloat now that she has abandoned it.

'I don't know if the show will survive without me,' she told People Magazine. 'I hope so. … It will just have a little bit of a different tone without me there, for sure.'

'The fans are going to gag!' she continued. 'I definitely don't want to let them down, but I feel very free. I can breathe a little and do some things that I've wanted to do.'

On Monday, the 47-year-old, who was the last remaining original cast member, revealed that she would not be returning to the reality show for the first time in its eight seasons.

It was reported that NeNe, arguably the show's biggest star, refused to come back after wage negotiations broke down.

With an estimated personal fortune of around $12million, her most recent contract saw her earn about $1.5 million per season, which presumably was not enough to tempt her back for season eight.

Nevertheless she insisted after the news broke that 'everything's just fine' between her and network Bravo, which series executive producer and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen appeared to corroborate on Twitter.

'We love @NeNeLeakes & she is always welcome back to the house she helped build!' he wrote. 'She's a Real Housewife forever!!'

NeNe told People that she may pop in now and then 'to play with those girls' and according to TMZ that very well might happen.

the site claimed the show's producers are still keen to have her appear periodically during the season.

NeNe is also said to be on board, as long as the money is right and it fits in with her schedule, which reportedly includes a sitcom, managing her own clothing line and starring in Kim Kardashian's app game.
