He was once the winner of Big Brother.

But Brian Belo's second experience of the reality TV competition has resulted in a brief spell of therapy after receiving a tirade of abuse from fellow contestant Helen Wood.

In an explosive argument, the former prostitute claimed Brian 'looked like a rapist and a murderer', which left him so upset he needed to speak with the show's resident counsellor.

Brash: Former prostitute Helen - who returned for a second run after winning last year - sparked more than 2,000 Ofcom complaints over her behaviour

According to a report in the Daily Star, the Essex-born contestant was so upset he needed help in processing the experience.

'I did see the Big Brother counsellor afterwards,' he said. 'He was the same guy who was the psychologist during my series back in 2007, which was nice.

'Chatting about what happened helped. I'm in a better frame of mind now, but Helen put me through hell with her insults.'

Former winner: The Essex-born TV personality won the reality show in 2007 and went back in as one of the Big Brother Legends this year to shake up the Channel 5 show

He added that, despite Ofcom receiving more than 2,000 complaints about her, Wood is still making public insults at Brian and his family.

The explosive fight came after Brian scolded Helen for bullying in the BB house after his love interest, Jade, was evicted.

'You and Mark, you’re a tag team – you’re the gruesome twosome,' he said, to which she replied: 'Oh f**k off. You’re a freak. You think Jade going to be waiting for a tosser like you?

'You look like a rapist and a murderer'.

Leaving the room, he then went into the Diary Room to speak with BB.

Bursting into tears, he said: ‘I hate her so much. Her and Marc intimidate people and they are bullies. Now I hate being here. They’re always laughing and sniggering at me. It’s not funny.’

Eventually, Brian left the house and quit the show in protest after escaping over the garden wall.
