‘I dash around M&S in flats and occasionally a cashier says, “You look just like Victoria Beckham”: Posh Spice on being a working mum and the power of positive thinking

  • Victoria Beckham has been one of the famous women in the UK since 1996
  • But the fashion designer maintains she often goes incognito
  • She discusses raising her children and juggling work with family in Vogue

Since 1996, when the Spice Girls song Wannabe shot to the top of the UK charts, Victoria Beckham has been one of the most famous women in Britain.

But despite racking up millions of record sales, marrying one of the country's best footballers and becoming head of a successful fashion empire, the 41 year old claims people hardly notice her when she is out and about.

Juggling four children and a successful business means that Victoria's life is often far from as glamorous as it looks in paparazzi hots and on her Instagram page.

Steal Victoria's stripes in a dress from her Fall 2015 collection

Victoria Beckham has come a long way from her bodycon-designing days, making it all about the loose, structured fit for her Fall 2015 collection. And who better to model VB in Vogue Australia than VB? No one!

And as we sit here drooling over her incredible shots in the glossy new edition of Vogue Aus, we want to steal her stripes with this gorgeous black and white midi length number which epitomizes Victoria’s fresh take on fashion.

Although not as overtly sexy as her skin tight dresses from when she first started out, these contemporary style creations reclaim a new kind of chic sensuality with an avant-garde edge.

Layers, bold patterns and innovative designs make all of VB's new pieces a worthy statement investment, and we're sad that this dress in particular isn't up for grabs just yet.

So check out VB's current collection retailing at Net-A-Porter with a click to the right, and emulate her Vogue vibes with a striped monochrome dress from the affordable edit below.

In a new interview with Australian Vogue, the star reveals that when she is chasing her kids to brush their teeth or tidying up their mess, that she finds herself reminding them that she was a shiny pop-star back in the day.

In these busy, usual, 'working mum' moments, she can be so inconspicuous when going about her daily chores that people sometimes comment on how she looks like Victoria Beckham.

She told the publication: 'A lot of people probably don’t even notice me - I’ll dash around Marks & Spencer in my flat shoes, head down, with a shopping basket ... Occasionally, at the checkout, a cashier will say: "You look just like Victoria Beckham."'

While both David and Victoria are incredibly driven and successful, the couple's main focus has always been their four kids; Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and three-year-old Harper.

Victoria said: 'The three boys love football like their dad; they love all sport, not just football. And they’re into so many other things.

'They love art; they’re very creative, very arty. Brooklyn loves photography; he’s got a really great eye.'

The children's attitude is a result of their parents' effort to bring them up in a relatively strict way.

Despite their vast wealth - the couple has an estimated joint worth of £165m - they have tried to install a strong work ethic and good values in their children.

This is coupled with a positive mental attitude, something that Victoria considers so important that she uses crystals for their healing energy  - carrying them around in her pocket with her.

She hopes this attitude will rub off on her children too - instead of allowing her kids to be sulky about going to school at the beginning of the week, she tells them, 'Monday is great! We have the whole of the week ahead of us!'

Victoria and David celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on Saturday and she took to her Instagram account to mark the moment.

The 41-year-old fashion designer shared a touching photo of the couple surrounded by their children.

She captioned the sweet image: ‘Happy anniversary, I love u so much x I'm so proud of our beautiful family x.’

The married couple's public display of affection comes a few days after they enjoyed a dinner date with British songstress Adele at London's Beaumont Hotel.

They were also joined by the Beckhams' close pals, Gordon and Tana Ramsay.

Meanwhile, David and Victoria first met at a football match back in 1997, and have become one of the showbiz world's power couples in the 16 years since.

After the talented sportsman requested a meeting with the then-Spice Girl, Victoria admitted she had no idea who her future husband was.

Speaking about the first time they met, she previously said: 'I didn't really know who he was. I was never into football.'
