Denise Richards and 10-year-old daughter Lola loaded up with party treats and balloons as they got ready to celebrate Independence Day on Saturday.

The duo picked up supplies at a supermarket near their home and Lola helped her mom load the items into their SUV.

The ex-wife of Charlie Sheen looked toned and fabulous in her tiny denim shorts and loose tank top that had a picture of a large slice of watermelon on the front.

Trim: The actress and reality star, 44, showed off fabulously toned arms and legs in tiny denim shorts and a loose-fitting tank top

Her hair was tied up in a messy bun and the toned star wore a pair of large sunglasses and flip flops.

The busy mom has clearly been maintaining a strict workout regimen as evidenced by the muscles on her arms and legs.

Her middle daughter Lola looked gorgeous in a summery turquoise sundress and bright pink flip flops.

With her long blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, she was pretty as a picture

The former Bond girl had picked up plenty of leafy green veggies at the store that were seen poking out the top of her brown paper grocery bags.

She also stocked up on bottled water and some soda.

In addition to patriotic red, white and blue balloons, Denise purchased one that said 'happy birthday'

It turns out the actress was preparing for a barbecue and pool party with friends that included reality stars Scout Masterson and Bill Horner, better known as the 'guncles' to Tori Spelling's four kids.

Independence Day also happened to be Masterson's 40th birthday.

Denise later shared a photo on Instagram showing him blowing out the candles on the birthday cake he made himself.

Scout and Bill married in 2011 and adopted a little girl four years ago as well as a baby boy a few months ago.

Denise, too, has an adopted daughter Eloise, who's also four, as well as her children with ex-husband Charlie sheen, Lola and older sister Sam, 11.

Masterson, who runs an adoption mentoring charity Hold My Hand with his husband, posted some pics on his Instagram account showing the celebratory gathering Saturday at Denise's home and thanked the 'It's Complicated' star for her hospitality.

Denise has been quietly getting on raising her children with Sheen despite her ex taking to Twitter on Father's Day to label her a 'washed up piglet shame pile'.

The tweets, formatted in Sheen's trademark haphazard style, have since been deleted, but not before they were screen-grabbed by a good portion of his 11.5 million followers.

Denise was widely lauded for her classy response, in which she simply wished him a 'Happy Dad's Day! ' adding 'have a great trip in Mexico! Kids were disappointed u weren't here for it- Hey we'll celebrate when u r back!'

A spokesperson for Sheen claimed at the time that the Two And A Half men star was just upset that he couldn't be with his daughters for Father's Day and that Dense had refused an invitation to join him in Mexico with his other ex-wife Brooke Mueller and their twins Max and Bob.

However, a source told People magazine that Sheen hasn't seen his daughters in 'about two months' and there had been no invite extended to them or Denise to be with him on Father's Day.
