Kim Richards' ailing ex-husband Monty Brinson shares a photo of them kissing as he hints troubled RHOBH star will make comeback with a movie this month

Troubled reality star Kim Richards spent the Fourth of July weekend with her former husband Monty Brinson and on Monday, he posted a photo on social media showing the pair kissing.

The exes are seen locking lips against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean with their arms around each other.

Frail-looking Brinson, who has terminal cancer, accompanied the photo with a long message addressed to Kim, 50, which included a cryptic line about a comeback

'All I can say is I'm so proud of Kim and can't wait till the premier of your movie this month and for the world to see how beautiful and great you are doing,' he wrote.

It's the first time anyone has mentioned anything about Kim doing a movie

The former actress and reality star herself has not been posting on social media for weeks, ever since her arrest for drunkenness in April, and has not made any announcements about a film project.

Brinson, who was married to Kim from 1985 to 1988, appeared to be keen to rehabilitate his former wife in the eyes of the world following her much-publicized addictions, feud with younger sister Kyle Richards and her axing from Bravo's Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

The supermarket franchise heir was told in May 2014 that he had only weeks or months to live and he has rejoiced at outlasting the doctors predictions.

But in a post two weeks ago, he revealed doctors have said he only has a few days or a few weeks left and some of his Instagram followers thought his rambling remarks about Kim were a kind of public farewell.

But Brinson insisted that 'I'm doing great, I'm not going anywhere.'

'Can't get rid of me that easy,' he added.

While Brinson and Kim are apparently closer than ever, their daughter Brooke, 29, has seemingly broken ties with her mother.

Kim publicly fell off the wagon at Brooke's destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, at the end of May.

Her reportedly drunken antics caused a deep rift with her daughter who married Fatburger heir Thayer Wiederhorn for a second time in a luxury ceremony.

She married legally last August at home in Beverly Hills so her dad who was very sick at the time could witness her marriage.

Kim, who is believed to be continuing to get therapy at a rehab facility in LA, spent the Independence Day holiday with Brinson as well as his second ex-wife, former Playboy Playmate Terri Lynn Doss and Doss and Brinson's daughter Madelyn.

In Monday's post, Brinson said 'the fireworks started early. What makes me laugh is people wondering are we or are we not.'

He went on: 'I wish I could tell everyone all the things that you have lined up in your life to fulfill your happiness inside...... Anybody who would ever meet you would see what I saw in you many years ago.'

'There are so many people out there pulling for you and just remember you are loved by many. Always stay strong and don't let people walk over you or take advantage of you anymore.'

Kim has been caring for her ailing ex husband.

During season five of RHOBH, she was challenged by co-star Lisa Rinna about her sobriety leading to an admission that she'd taken a Vicodin pill given to her by Brinson.

It's been a rough few months for the reality star.

She has been locked in a bitter feud with sister and fellow RHOBH star Kyle Richards, 46.

The sisters fought constantly during season five of the Bravo reality series with Kyle expressing concern over Kim's sometimes bizarre behavior.

The feud deepened after Kim's dog Kinglsey bit Kyle's daughter Alexia Umansky and the injury required stitches and follow-up surgeries. 

She is also facing two years in jail after being charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer stemming from the April 16 late night incident at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
