As Sportsmail revealed on Monday, the Cameroon international has agreed personal terms with the east London side and is now awaiting a medical ahead of a permanent move.

A fee is yet to be agreed with Barcelona for the former Arsenal midfielder though, with the Hammers keen to land Song on a free transfer ideally.

Despite this the transfer is expected to go through and could be completed within the next 72 hours.

New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is also hopeful of landing former loanee Carl Jenkinson from the Emirates, as well as Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour and Lille midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
