He's flown to Australia to promote his new movie Magic Mike XXL, leaving his beloved fiancée Sofia Vergara behind in the US.

But the stunning Colombian actress is clearly not far from Joe Manganiello's mind.

The 38-year-old was seen shopping for jewellery as he enjoyed some down time in Sydney on Tuesday.

The hunky six foot four star was seen perusing the store before thoroughly inspecting a necklace.

For the outing, Joe donned a pair of washed out jeans teamed with a striped T-shirt underneath a stylish button down jacket.

A pair of scuffed leather boots completed his ensemble, and he accessorised with a large silver ring which appeared to be in the shape of a skull.

Meanwhile, following the Australian premiere of his new movie on Monday night, Joe revealed that he practiced his famous petrol station scene in Magic Mike XXL on his beloved brunette beauty partner.

He admitted he practiced the pulse-racing routine specifically for her before it was filmed.

When asked during a Q&A session after the screening of the movie in Sydney whether he practiced for the scene in front of a mirror, Joe replied: 'No, not the mirror...'

'I practiced for my fiancée,' he added with a cheeky smirk.

The sexy five-minute scene sees Joe - who portrays Big D**k Richie - attempt to tease a smile out of a female sales assistant, who is typing away on her phone, for a bet with Mike (Channing Tatum).

In the hope of snatching her attention, Richie grabs a snack, rips open a bag of cheesy Cheetos with his bulging biceps, grinds against an up-right drinks fridge and douses himself with icy water.

Still not managing to make the emotionless clerk crack a smile, Richie clutches at straws and throws himself down the aisle of the convenience store before he breaks out into the wiggly worm.

Throwing his muscular body on the floor and rippling backwards to the Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way, the hunk eventually manages to entice a slight smile out of the miserable worker.

And the struggle was certainly real as Joe admitted he began to feel 'self-conscious' when the woman refused to grin on set, even when she was allowed to.

He explained: 'The girl, that I was working with, God bless her. She did not smile all day. Even in rehearsals, to the point where I was thinking what I was doing was funny.

'And this girl didn't even crack a smile when she was allowed to in rehearsals, so I started to get really self-conscious. I got her to smile at the end.'

Meanwhile, the sequel to the 2012 hit is filled to the brim with muscles, sexy moves, and hunky men and in one scene in particular, Joe is forced to swing from monkey bars during an energetic routine.

But, despite loving his petrol station scene, Sofia wasn't a fan of the sex swing routine and even threatened to break up with him over it.

Speaking about shooting the scene, he told Vanity Fair last month: 'Sofia was there that day.

'We got back [to my trailer], and as soon as the door closed, she looked at me and said, "If I see you at the gym tomorrow, we’re done. I’m going to leave you. That’s it!" '

Joe, 38, and Sofia, 42, got engaged in December last year, following six months of dating, in Spain, and have reportedly set a date for their wedding but are remaining tight-lipped on the details.

The US actor recently admitted he is desperate to become a dad, but would respect Sofia if she said no to having more [she already has a teenage son from her previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez].

He told Haute Living Magazine: 'I have always wanted to be a dad; I've always wanted kids. I've always been open about that.'
