She was surrounded by a gang of friends when she celebrated Independence Day in Texas.

But when Ashley Greene returned to LAX the very next day, it appeared the taxing celebrations had taken a toll on the young starlet.

The makeup-free 28-year-old, who was spotted holding hands with her boyfriend Paul Khoury on Sunday as they walked through arrivals, looked wiped out.

For the flight, Ashley slicked her glossy locks up into a tight top knot while keeping it comfortable in white trousers and beige flats.

The actress teamed her look with a jean jacket and an edgy scarf that was adorned with skull patterns.

Her boyfriend of nearly two years was casually dressed as well in a black tank top, shorts, and a matching hat.

Just a day earlier the couple kicked off the Fourth of July with Paul's company Lokai, which sells bracelets containing fragments from Mt. Everest and the Dead Sea.

Ashley didn't shy away from Instagramming the festivities, and captioned one snap of herself playing around at the bash: 'Had way too much fun in the @livelokai 4th of July photo booth! @ryanrottman @paulkhoury.'

In another image, the star clutched a red lollipop while cosying up to her bearded other half.

While Ashley enjoys a brief respite from work, it will soon be back on the publicity trail for the star, who has a number of films in post-production.

However, not even Ashley's slender physique is immune from scrutiny in Hollywood.

When asked by Health magazine if she had ever been called 'too fat', Ashley responded: 'Yeah, and listen, everyone has a different perception of what they think perfect is, and you're never gonna be able to please everyone.

'It's so tough, but once you come to terms with that, it's a little easier to deal with.'

As her career progresses, Ashley said she's learned to pride her craft over her frame.

Nowadays, the actress will be seen in the upcoming film In Dubious Battle, which also stars Selena Gomez and was directed by James Franco.

The movie is a film adaptation of John Steinbeck's 1936 novel of the same name and will hit cinemas later this year.
