Cara Santana ditches the make-up to let her natural beauty shine on gym trip

Cara Santana ditched the make-up routine and let her skin breathe when she headed to the gym on Sunday.

The 31-year-old appeared to be in high spirits when she headed towards the facility in Los Angeles, glued to her phone.

Cara piled her dark brunette locks up into a very high pony tail, and covered up in a slouchy grey top and tight black leggings that flattered her toned legs.

The actress polished off the sporty look with Nike trainers, and brushed past her car clutching her keys.

It seems Cara has been rewarding herself to a weekend of leisure this past Independence Day holiday.

The actress Instagrammed a photo of herself relaxing poolside in a bikini on Saturday, where she admitted she was spending the holiday without her long-term boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe.

'Independently Celebrating // Co-Dependently Missing My Firework @RealJesseMetcalfe,' she captioned the image.

Jesse has been busy filming the upcoming courtroom drama God's Not Dead 2 opposite Melissa Joan Hart.

While it is uncertain if the actor was busy on the set on Saturday, he did Instagram several images of himself suited up in costume on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cara has been making her mark in the tech world with the creation of her latest project, The Glam App.

The new enterprise is a joint venture between Cara and her makeup artist friend Joey Maalouf.

When describing the concept to Racked LA, Cara discussed how stylists would have access to work at the touch of their fingertips.

'As opposed to hiring and training a select team of beauty stylists, we encourage all stylists - whether you're emerging talent or quite established - to sign up.

'This way they can have direct access to clients, create their own hours, and procure work as a creative freelancer. Hence, the concept of the virtual agency. We also take a smaller commission, so that the stylist is able to reap the rewards of their work.'

Last week, the star announced on Instagram that she was expanding her app and seeking stylists in Miami and Chicago to join the force.

Though Cara has spread her wings into tech, it doesn't mean she has abandoned her passion for acting.

The star has recently wrapped up two films, and also appeared the second season of the WGN America's Salem, which recently aired its second season finale.
