She famously moved to the Chelsea neighbourhood of New York City after her 2012 high-profile divorce from Tom Cruise.

And it seems like Katie Holmes is a big fan of the area in the Big Apple as she is seemingly renting a property in the same neighbourhood for a much higher price.

The 36-year-old actress is now renting a $25K-a-month luxury penthouse in Chelsea.

For the Women in Gold premiere in New York, Katie Holmes left the mom jeans and sneakers at home and opted for a racy look by Zac Posen.

The stunning creation featured cut outs along the sides and back with floral embroidered fabric. Teamed with a pair of black pointy toe pumps, this was a perfect red carpet ensemble.

Katie's dress was ripped from Zac Posen's Fall 2015 runway which included lush colored furs, shiny metallics, and plenty of form fitting silhouettes, perfect for the designer's elite clientele.

According to the New York Post, her new digs are twice the price of her $12.5 rental at the Chelsea Mercantile, which has been her New York home base for three years.

The new property is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom 2,400-square-feet penthouse duplex with a sleek modern touch.

Windows on all four ends of the new home showcase breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline including the Empire State Building and the World Trade Center.

The listing brokers of the beautiful penthouse were Brandon Trentham and Bernard Marshall of Town Residential. 

No doubt the home will prove to be a nice new place for Katie's nine-year-old daughter Suri to live as she has been living full time with her mom since the actresses' split with Tom in 2012.

Last year the former star of Dawson's Creek quietly purchased the six-bedroom, six-bathroom property for $3.795 million near where Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian call home.

Katie has been keeping busy as she is set for a guest spot on the upcoming season of Showtime series: Ray Donovan.

She plays Paige Finney in the third season, which is set to premiere Sunday, July 12 on Showtime.
