Miracle On The River Kwai

A repeat showing of a documentary

originally broadcast under the Secret History banner.

The film revealed the previously untold story of the remarkable achievements, against overwhelming odds, of doctors and medical orderlies among the prisoners of war forced by the Japanese to build the notorious Thailand to Burma railway.

Creating from virtually nothing an improvised hospital, they saved thousands of lives.

A heartening and inspiring tale, well worth the retelling.
