Speaking about her new campaign, a natural looking Katie told FEMAIL: 'After using Remescar I noticed a difference not just in the appearance of my scars but the texture too.

'It also fits in really well with my lifestyle, I use it before applying my make-up and it has become part of my daily routine.

'Also, when I was pregnant, I tried the stretchmark cream and it worked so well, I don’t have any stretch marks.'

Katie, who penned several positive affirmation books during her recovery, says an optimistic outlook is one of her secrets to success.

'It really is about faking it until you make it,' she said. 'If you believe in yourself then you will feel as though others believe it too. Also, don’t be envious of other people or what other people have. It’s all about a positive mindset and being the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.

'I look for the good in everything. Of course, I am not a robot and I do have my down days. But I think it is important to look at yourself and appreciate what you have, it puts everything into perspective.'

Katie heeded her own advice recently when she took to the runway for Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief catwalk show, which she describes as 'a once in a lifetime opportunity'.

Her catwalk coup kicked off what looks set to be a successful year for Katie. She's penned a new book, is working on several TV projects has been busy growing her charity.

If that wasn't enough, Katie is busy mothering her one-year-old daughter and this year launched the first UK fashion catwalk that included models with visible differences at The Ideal Home Show.

'I am really lucky as what I do is so diverse,' she said of her burgeoning career. 'I love writing books and sharing my experiences to help others. It’s so moving to read feedback from people saying that my book has helped them.

'My charity, the Katie Piper Foundation, provides support and guidance to people who have suffered life changing burns. It’s been incredible to be a part of helping people receive the treatment and support they need. Finally, I love working on shows like Body Shockers where I get to meet people with really extreme problems.

'Channel 4 have just commissioned two new programmes, one of which is going to be a medical make-over show. And I still have my Foundation where we have been able to fund young people to go to a skin clinic in France (the same clinic I attended during my recovery) to receive the best treatment they can get. That has been a dream come true and I intend on doing more of that.'

But, says ambitious Katie, her main focus is her daughter. 'I want to be the best mother and the best friend I can be for her,' she said.

'Life has taught me that I just want to be happy and healthy. So as long as I have both those things in five years’ time I’ll be really happy.'
