Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights

Bolton comedian Peter Kay's last series,

That Peter Kay Thing, deservedly won the 2000 British Comedy Award for Best New TV Comedy.

His new series is a spin-off from In The Club, the first programme of That Peter Kay Thing.

As before, it's sharply-observed deadpan comedy in docu-soap style, with Kay playing several parts, notably club owner Brian, preparing for the gala opening of his rebuilt social club - a pasty-and-peas supper plus guest stars Roy Walker and folk group Half A Shilling.

What can possibly go wrong?
