Peace of mind on the beach: Now you can take your valuables WITH YOU when you go for a swim... with a waterproof 'Swymbag'

  • The bags are crowdfunded and it's hoped they will be on sale in October
  • They have been tested in water for over 30 minutes at a depth of 2 metres
  • Swymbags will cost £50 and will come in a variety of sizes

Beach life is no fun if you're always having to worry about leaving your valuables unattended on the sand - or if you have to operate a rotating security watch with friends and family.

However, a new crowdfunded project aims to put a stop to these worries - by making waterproof bags you can store your belongings in when you have a dip.

From shoulder bags to bumbags, Swymbags come in all shapes and sizes depending on what you want to protect when enjoying the holiday waves, with the smallest able to store a phone and the biggest an iPad.

The synthetic fabric, often used to make wetsuits, is designed to be both durable and comfortable against the skin.

And they should dry quickly after use.

The prototypes have been tested in factory and real life conditions and while submerged in water for over 30 minutes at a depth of up to two metres, the contents in the bags remained dry.
