Oops, Britney's changed again

by JOEL WOLCHOVER, Evening Standard

Britney Spears failed to pick up any awards at the 28th American Music Awards in Los Angeles this week despite her cunning attempt to win over the judges with a remarkable five changes of outfit. The teenage pop sensation and her boyfriend Justin Timberlake, from the group NSync, arrived at the event wearing his 'n' hers matching denim outfits,

hers was a ball-gown with a plunging neckline. He wore a deliberately distressed denim suit, complete with matching cowboy hat and some rather ill-advised spectacles. Britney, 19, ditched the denim for the opening of the show, which she cohosted with rapper LL Cool J, she chose a printed satin halterneck dress with jewelled collar.

She lated slipped into a more revealing mini-skirt and bandeau combination, (see below) which wowed the audience at the Shrine auditorium in Los Angeles.

Another change later and she was back on stage in a strapless pink dress adorned with red rose petals spoiled somewhat by a gurning expression caught on camera. She struck a raunchier pose when re-appeared to perform one of her hit songs on stage, wearing sprayed-on jeans and top which, what little of it there was, (see above left) appeared to continue the earlier Wild West theme, with long cowboy tassles which became indistinguishable from her blonde tresses as she whirled around on stage.

Top marks for her wardrobe - but she was less of a success in the music department. Although she was nominated for favourite female artist in the pop or rock category and favourite pop or rock album, for her multi-million selling Oops! ... I Did it Again, she failed to secure either.
