His weight has yo-yoed over the years, with Jonah Hill piling on the pounds in the last few months following his dramatic weight loss in 2011.

On Tuesday the actor was seen paying for a food delivery outside his apartment building in Soho, New York, displaying his portly physique in an all-black outfit.

The 31-year-old has been sporting his heavier-set physique as he films new big screen comedy Arms and Dudes.

On Tuesday Jonah was dressed casually in shorts and a loose black t-shirt as he greeted the delivery man on the steps of his Soho building.

Jonah added a pair of trainers and a baseball cap as he paid with cash for a small brown paper bag.

The actor has been displaying his extreme weight gain for several weeks, with a source claiming to OK! that the star is now 'well over 300 pounds,' the heaviest he's been in years.

The actor's weight has yo-yoed over the years and he famously slimmed down in 2011, shedding 40lbs from his 250lbs frame.

He thanked his Moneyball co-star Brad Pitt for encouraging him to get healthy at the time, revealing a nutritionist and a diet of Japanese food helped him stay trim.

Jonah also confessed he wanted to slim down for the sake of his family, who were concerned about his health and wanted him to forsake his former frat boy lifestyle.

'Being healthier came along with maturity,' he told Vulture in 2011. 'And it’s hard, because a lot of times people want you to be the guy you were when they met you. And I love doing funny movies, but I want to mature, literally, in how I treat myself.'
