Kerry Katona's husband George Kay 'hospitalised following episode at hotel' hours after being kicked out of family home

Kerry Katona's husband George Kay is said to have been sent to hospital the night that he was kicked out of the family home.

Former rugby league player and doorman George, 35 - who was detained under the Mental Health Act six before the couple's 2014 wedding - reportedly suffered an 'episode' at a hotel in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

On Tuesday it was claimed that Kerry, 34, threw her third husband out of their Chinnor, Oxon home but a source has now revealed to The Sun that he reacted badly to Kerry's decision just hours later.

Speaking to the newspaper's Dan Wootton, a source said: 'George didn't take Kerry's decision well. He bolted off and went out. It all came to a head later at the hotel where he had an episode.'

George was kept overnight at an Oxford hospital after police investigated the disturbance at what the newspaper is calling a 'budget' hotel.

A representative for Kerry Katona refused to comment on the hospitalisation when contacted by MailOnline.

Kerry - who is mother to their daughter 13-month-old Dylan-Jorge, as well as her other children Molly, 13, Lilly-Sue, 12, Heidi, eight, Max, seven - has similarly remained quiet on the subject, simply tweeting at 8pm on Tuesday night: 'Having a early night, sweet dreams all x'

Her decision to kick out her third husband husband for the £3,500-per-month rented family mansion was motivated by the 35-year-old regularly going missing, partying and failure to support the family, sources claimed.

A source reported to The Sun on Tuesday: 'George's party lifestyle doesn't suit Kerry. He has been going missing regularly and Kerry has said she has had enough.'

'All he's bothered about,' the source continued. 'Is how he looks, going back to Warrington to see his friends and partying. And he's done nothing to support her financially or emotionally.'

Kerry spoke out in support of her man in August 2014, when he suffered a very public meltdown just ahead of their September nuptials.

George was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and taken in to the John Radcliffe Hospital after he was found running down the road outside their home shouting that someone was going to kill him.

She vowed to 'help [him] win this fight' after he admitted that the episode arose out of a combination of 'sleeping pills, drinking and taking steriods.'

George is now thought to have taken off for Warrington, Cheshire, where the couple are both originally from and have known each other since kids.

Kerry has already had two unsuccessful marriages to Brian McFadden and Mark Croft, but she and George only married last September.

It's not the first time in that nine months that the couple's commitment has been called into question because in May, he revealed his doubts over where they 'should even be together.'

In an interview with Closer magazine, the 34-year-old said: 'It's been tough lately. We've been rowing a lot. Marriage isn't what I thought it would be to be honest.'

He added: 'There have been times I've thought we might not last. In my darkest moments I've wondered if we should even be together.'

George admitted that his desire to provide for his family, combined with dealing with bankruptcy has led to some of their more explosive rows.

'We argue a lot of money issues. We have to live within a strict budget and that's tough. We're both fiery characters, too, so that doesn't help things.'

George and Kerry's relationship has been a whirlwind one in which she was engaged after eight months in April 2013 and finally walked down the aisle the following year in September.

They started dating in secret just one year after he was released from prison for blackmail.

George served a half sentence of six years after being convicted at a trial at Manchester Crown Court for two counts of blackmail in November 2008.

Previously, Atomic Kitten's Kerry was first famously married to fellow pop band member Brian, who was at the time a member of Irish boyband Westlife.

They were married for four years and two children together, Molly and Lilly-Sue before separating in 2006.

Coincidentally, Brian announced his separation from wife of three years Vogue Williams on Tuesday - the couple were yet to have children together.

In a joint statement on social media, Brian wrote: ‘It is with sadness that Vogue and I have made the tough decision to go our separate ways.

‘We will always care greatly about each other, remain friends and wish each other all the very best for the future.

‘We have nothing else to say on the subject and we would like to thank our friends and family for their support during this difficult period. Vogue x’

The singer and former queen of the I'm A Celebrity... jungle followed up her marriage to Brian with a four-year union with Mark, who she met when he allegedly tried to supply drugs to her mother Sue.

Friends have expressed concerned that Kerry feels distressed about what her failed marriages are putting her own kids through, after she watched her mother date 'a string of bad men' as a child.

As an only child, Kerry was brought up predominantly by mother after her father returned to his wife and kids not long after her birth.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2012, Kerry described her own complicated family tree when she said: 'When I was born, Mum was seeing another guy, who I used to call Dad. His dad was my "grandad". Then my mum left him for his dad.

'So the man I called Dad became my brother and the man I called Grandad, who was 30 years older than my mum, became my dad.

'They got married – the most stable period of my childhood. Then my mum left him for a woman.'

Second time not so lucky: Kerry was then married to Mark Croft (here in February 2008) though it ended in a complicated fashion after four years in 2011
