Rita Ora goes retro in red mini dress and thigh-high boots as she makes her X Factor judging debut in Manchester

She's making her debut on The X Factor this year, and as any fan of the show knows the series is as much about the judges' fashion choices as the music.

And Rita Ora didn't disappoint when she arrived for the first round of auditions in Manchester on Wednesday with her new co-judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell and Nick Grimshaw.

Jetting in from a trip to Paris Fashion Week, the Hot Right Now singer stuck to her penchant for daring looks, teaming a bold red mini dress with thigh-high boots.

The 24-year-old showed off her curves in her red mini dress which featured cut-out detail on the neckline and a super short skirt with pleat detail.

A large belt drew attention to Rita's slim waist, accentuating her hour-glass curves.

The singer stuck to the red theme with her choice of footwear, matching the red carpet which had been laid out for the judges in her zip-up boots.

Ramp things up in a racy red dress like Rita Ora

The X-Factor returns and Rita Ora is joining the gang after jumping ship from BBC's The Voice and we're excited to see what the 21-year-old brings to the show.

She is obviously a very successful star in the music industry giving her all the credentials she needs for the job, but what we're looking forward to most, is the style she'll bring to the show. Cheryl and Rita's looks are usually miles apart with Cheryl opting for more feminine attire and Rita choosing edgier, quirkier pieces so it'll be a real breath of fresh air for the talent competition.

She chose to dress up for the first auditions in Manchester, leaving behind her sweats and stepping into this pretty number. The asymmetric red dress is a Versace piece from the Fall 2015 collection and it's up for grabs now at Luisa Via Roma (right).

It's hardly a bargain buy though at $1875 (ouch, we know), so if like the rest of us you're not made of money then do not fear, we have trawled the internet to find the best red offerings to help you achieve Rita's look with just a click below.

The style-conscious star piled on the accessories, rocking a statement hand chain and some large hooped earrings.

Rita swapped her platinum blonde crop she's been sporting in recent weeks for tumbling extensions.

Her makeup was also looking flawless, teaming winged eyeliner with a nude lip and shimmering white eyeshadow as she walked the red carpet on Wednesday, two days later than planned after the first auditions were postponed following the tragic death of Simon Cowell's mother.

While Rita showed little sign of first day nerves as she worked the crowd, she did tell her Instagram followers that she was feeling a little under the weather. 'Manchester day 1 X-Factor. I'm soooooooo excited!!! Got a swollen tonsil but it's all good!! We're survivors!' she gushed.

Rita has joined this year's X Factor judging panel with her close friend Nick Grimshaw, while head judge Simon Cowell is back for another year alongside Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

Rita left rival BBC show The Voice after just one season to join the ITV series.

It's thought that the British singer was 'lured' from the BBC to ITV with a £1.5m contract, after spending just one season as a coach alongside Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson.
