He's been playing the doting daddy for the past three months.

And it seems Sam Worthington can't bear to tear himself away from his baby son Rocket Zot, even for work commitments, as he appeared a little grumpy while on set of his new movie on Monday.

The 38-year-old actor, who resides in the US with his family, seemed a bit miserable as he geared up to shoot scenes for his forthcoming flick, The Shack, in Vancouver, Canada.

With a heavy brown coat slung over his shoulders, the English-born Australian star wandered around with his shoulders slouched over as he gazed down at the floor with his heavy eyes.

Lifting his hand up in front of his mouth, the hunk let out a wide-mouthed yawn while the camera men fiddled around with the expensive devices and prepared the area for filming.

Clearly struggling in the heat with his winter-style costume, Sam appeared to have little droplets of sweat trickling down his forehead as the summer sun bounced off his flawless skin.

Sam's wife Lara and baby son Rocket paid a visit to Sam on set last week after jetting in from Los Angeles, but it's thought the duo may now be making their way back to the sunny Californian city.

The brunette beauty shared a snap of the two of them waiting at what appeared to be an airport on Wednesday as the tiny tot sat on her lap in a pair of chic suede booties on his tiny toes.

Lara had on a pair of Balenciaga studded sandals teamed with leopard print jeans and she simply captioned the snap with a rocket emoticon.

Back in December the Being Lara Bingle star sparked rumours she'd tied the knot with Sam last December after she subtly changed her Instagram profile name to read Lara Bingle Worthington.

And it seems the model has had a change of heart since welcoming their baby son into the world earlier this year, as she's recently ditched the double-barrelled surname.

Lara, who is fairly active on the media account, raised eyebrows last Friday afternoon when she randomly changed her Instagram handle and display name, simply to 'Lara Worthington.'
