She's widely known for her acting career, but it looks like Debra Messing has other job opportunities in mind - namely a 'naughty French secretary'.

Wearing a pair of retro glasses, the 46-year-old star looked the epitome of fifties glamour as she made her way into a recording of Watch What Happens Live! in New York City on Monday.

The actress, who frequently owns the red carpet in her sophisticated gowns, proved she could also pull off the geek chic look during the TV appearance.

Dressed in a white draped blouse, the flame-haired beauty teamed her vintage frames with a light pink pencil skirt, which was emblazoned with metallic silver specks.

Strutting across the pavement in a pair of pointed white pumps, the actress was clearly in the mood to be noticed as she also sported a bright pink lip and wore her luscious red locks in glamorous Hollywood waves, draped down one side of her face.

The star wasn't afraid to admit she was feeling sexy, as fans praised her slightly eccentric style on social media.

Told by one fan she looked 'gorgeous' after uploading some snaps of her look on Instagram, the actress replied on Twitter: 'Thank you! I'm going for the naughty French secretary look,' punctuated by some sassy manicure and lipstick emojis.

The comedienne also credited the designers of her look, Badgley Mischka and Dior.

The Wedding Date actress was clearly excited about her appearance on Watch What Happens Live as she publicly declared her love for host Andy Cohen and fellow guest, comedian Ali Wentworth on Instagram.

The funny star also engaged in some selfie fun, enjoying cosy snaps with Wentworth and Cohen, wh she claims is her new 'BFF'.

'Ok ITS OFFICIAL. We met, we fell in love, and now we're BFFs. He doesn't exactly know that yet but he'll catch up. @Andy #we'rejewish,' (sic) she quipped alongside their snap together.
