Football: Fulham land Harley

Chelsea full-back Jon Harley has signed for Fulham for £3.5million, subject to a medical, as Jean Tigana continued his pre-season spending spree.

After making his first-team breakthrough a couple of seasons ago, Harley, 21, last season found it hard to win a regular starting place due to the competition posed by Graeme Le Saux and Celestine Babayaro.

With Chelsea having snapped up another left-sided player, Boudewijn Zenden, last week, they have allowed Harley to move to West London rivals Fulham, who have recently also signed Edwin van der Sar, Abdeslam Ouaddou and Steed Malbranque.

The Chelsea official website confirmed: "Jon Harley has joined Fulham for £3.5million, dependant on a medical."
