One had best be off! Prince William raises a giggle on Centre Court as he pretends to run for the underground as the tube strike is announced at Wimbledon

  • The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were on Centre Court today to see Murray win against Vasek Pospisil
  • Visit comes a week after the Duchess of Cornwall was seen watching the tennis with Carole Middleton
  • Also there to cheer on Murray in his quarter final match was glamorous Mrs Murray, 27-year-old Kim Sears
  • The royals had company in the shape of an elegantly dressed Zara Tindall and her husband Mike
  • David Beckham, his son Romeo and Bear Grylls were among the famous names on Centre Court
  • Also there was a glamorous Sophie Wessex and Prince Albert of Monaco - both sitting in the Royal Box
  • Meanwhile, actor Bradley Cooper was spotted sitting next to Mirka Federer during Roger's match on Court One
  • London Underground workers are staging 24 hour strike in dispute over pay and introduction of new night services

The tube strike isn’t a laughing matter to the hoardes of London commuters attempting to get home tonight.

But a jovial Prince William managed to make light of the industrial action whilst at Wimbledon today as he pretended to make a dash for the underground station when an announcement made on Centre Court.

Watched by wife Kate, who he had already spent much of the day laughing with, the royal took the opportunity to give the Royal Box, and the rest of the court a giggle, jumping up from his seat with a smile.

Earlier the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had seemed still very much in love as they cheered on Andy Murray to his win against Vasek Pospisil on Centre Court today.

The couple, who were seated just in front of adventurer Bear Grylls and close to both Sophie Wessex and Prince Albert of Monaco, looked longingly into each other's eyes and shared some private jokes in between sets.

Kate, who has long been a tennis fan, was elegant in a scarlet dress by L.K Bennett and looked relaxed and happy as she chatted to her 33-year-old husband.

The duo, who also wore matching Ray Ban sunglasses, were given a round of applause as they took their seats and happily waved to the crowd of cheering tennis fans.

Look royal in red in Kate's L.K. Bennett dress

It's been a busy few days for the Duchess of Cambridge and her family.

It was her daughter's christening on Sunday and the rest of the Middletons have all managed to squeeze in a visit to Wimbledon. But now it's Kate's turn!

Of course, she looked as chic as ever for her day on Centre Court, shunning traditional tennis whites for a red dress. When teamed with an animal print Diane Von Furstenberg clutch bag and nude court heels, it's classic Kate with a twist.

The dress is from one her favorite brands, L.K. Bennett and we love the fit and flare shape. The midi skirt and elbow-length sleeves make it an elegant choice, and the bold hue will ensure she stands out from the crowd of spectators. Of course she'll be cheering on Andy Murray but the color is a nod to his Canadian opponent Vasek Pospisil too. Talk about dressing for the occasion!

And the best news is it's still in stock (for now...), so follow the link on the right to snap it up ASAP.

Later, when the match got underway, an animated Kate produced a series of Kim Murray style grimaces and was clearly feeling the tension as she watched the British No. 1 in action.

William and Kate's appearance on court comes a week after a memorable visit from the Duchess of Cornwall, who was left smiling after being presented with Murray's sweaty wristband.

She was joined on the day by her sister Annabel Elliot and Kate's mother Carole Middleton, with the three ladies seen enjoying a friendly chat between matches.

This week has also seen the tennis tournament play host to other members of the Middleton clan after 31-year-old Pippa made an appearance on Monday while James, 29, took his seat yesterday and brought girlfriend Donna Air with him.

Today saw Mrs Middleton make her second appearance of the 2015 tournament, arriving dressed in a green printed dress and accompanied by her husband Michael.

Like the rest of the Middleton family, William and Kate have become frequent visitors to Wimbledon in recent years and were both on court to see Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer in last year's men's singles final - an event also attended by a host of big name celebrities.

Among the stars on show on that occasion were Victoria and David Beckham, Chris Hemsworth and his Spanish wife Elsa Pataky and British actress Kate Beckinsale.

Today, the Duchess' main competition in the style stakes came in the shape of Kim Murray, Andy's glamorous 27-year-old wife, who looked stunning as she arrived to watch the action, and an elegant Sophie Wessex.

Also on court to see Murray slug it out in his quarter final was the equally stylish Zara Tindall, who arrived looking svelte in a fitted black top and beige skinny jeans on the arm of her husband Mike.

David Beckham, an old friend of Prince William's, was also spotted on Centre Court seated beside his 12-year-old son Romeo.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's visit to Wimbledon came a day after Prince William joined families and survivors of the 7/7 London bombing attacks at a poignant memorial service in Hyde Park.

He was seen hugging one of the youngest survivors, Emma Craig, 25, who had made a speech recounting her experiences after being caught up in the blast at Aldgate on the Circle Line.

Miss Craig, who was not injured in the blast, added: 'Quite often, people will say "it didn't break us, terrorism won't break us". 'The fact is it may not have broken London, but it did break some of us.

'Sometimes I feel that people are so hell bent on saying terrorism not breaking us that they forget about all the people who got caught up in it.'

Two days earlier, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had made an appearance as a family of four for the first time, when they arrived with both of their young children for the christening of Princess Charlotte.

William arrived clutching the hand of a playful Prince George, while the Duchess arrived pushing a pram containing her two-month-old daughter having walked to the church from Sandringham House in a pair of six-inch heels.
