She may be planning a gun-toting crime fighter but that doesn't stop Jennifer Lopez putting a certain kind of sexy into the role.

The 45-year-old singer, actress, and reality star judge was filming scenes for her latest cop drama Shades of Blue in Queens, New York, on Wednesday.

Showing off her curvaceous derriere in a pair of floor skimming black trousers JLo looked sassy and sexy in her police garb.

With a badge and gun on her belt, the brunette wore her usually long locks hidden under and bob length wavy wig.

The 45-year-old  plays a dirty cop-turned-FBI informant in the cop drama.

Her character Harlee Santos teamed the trousers with a white shirt.

And to ensure her legs looked endless she wore a pair of skyscraper heels. 

The star took time between takes to give herself a make-up touch up which she did herself. 

And she used a fan to cool down in the city heat. 

Jennifer's role sees her trying to walk the fine line between right and wrong, while keeping it together for her good-hearted daughter.

She can be seen saying: 'We know that certain things are wrong, but in certain situations, doing the wrong thing is the right thing.

'It's about that internal struggle that every single person has.

The Maid in Manhattan actress stars in the series with Ray Liotta (Lieutenant Bill Wozniak) and Drea de Matteo (Detective Tess Nazario). 

Shades of Blue is a 13 - episode series which will air on NBC.
