The cast and crew attended the meet and greet with fans at The Spit in Southport on the Gold Coast after shooting the final scenes for the latest Pirates of The Caribbean installment Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Though he acted more benevolently than Jack Sparrow might, Johnny certainly looked like a true pirate.

He wore Captain Jack's trademark maroon bandana, his deadlocked hairpiece and multi-layered murky outfit.

Ever the committed A-lister, the actor arrived when the sun was shining bright and was pictured still with the crowd after dark.

He was first spotted signing autographs for a wheelchair-bound child before making his way along the steel barricades.

One fan had brought a massive poster of Public Enemy, which starred Johnny, which he kindly signed.

The Rum Diaries star, who's married to Amber Heard, was also seen taking selfies with a family and chatting away with a young girl.
