Police hunt for missing boy

Police are becoming "extremely concerned" about a seven-year-old boy who has been missing since Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Entwistle, from Copperfield Avenue, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, was last seen by his parents at his home at 5pm.

Officers from across the county have been joined by dog handlers and police helicopters in the search for the boy.

Norfolk Police Spokesman Mel Lacey said: "We are extremely concerned for Daniel's welfare."

A bicycle believed to belong to the boy has been found in Trinity Square, near the quayside in Great Yarmouth, and is being examined by forensic experts, said Mr Lacey.

The investigation into his disappearance is being headed by Detective Superintendent Julian Gregory and is being closely monitored by Norfolk Deputy Chief Constable Colin Port.

Police said there have been two unconfirmed sightings of the youngster.

Daniel is described as 3ft 2in tall, of thin build, with light brown cropped hair and a northern accent.

When he disappeared he was wearing a blue Adidas tee-shirt, blue tracksuit bottoms, and grey coloured training shoes.
