Jungle bash ends in protest

TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson held a drunken sit-down protest and threatened to break out of I'm a Celebrity last night if his demands for cigarettes were not met.

The maestro in the kitchen had consumed the majority of two bottles of wine with Phil Tufnell and Linda Barker before trying his luck.

He found his way to the perimeter of the camp of ITV1's I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here and held a lamp to his face to avoid the cameras.

"All I am asking for me and Phil is four cigarettes as he is starting to talk about his kids, his ex-wives..." Antony slurred.

"Four cigarettes or I bolt for freedom, I am a desperate man on the run - Phil is desperate for a fag."

As he swayed, Antony decided to sit down and landed with a bump on the ground. "I am trying to help my fellow men - I shall organise a revolution," he continued.

Each time he was asked to return to camp by security, he gave a simple but bleary "no".

The chef was finally persuaded to go back after he had been told Phil had gone to bed and the show's organisers promised they would look into acquiring eco-friendly deodorant.

Unlucky John Fashanu was chosen by the public for his fourth Bushtucker Trial - Bobbing for Stars.

The former Wimbledon footballer will have to lean into various glass boxes filled with creep crawlies to retrieve 10 meal stars with his teeth.

Yesterday Fash had to overcome his phobia of snakes by stepping into a den seething with the reptiles. He managed to collect four stars until a snake slid up his leg, another wrapped itself round his ankle and he ran out of time.

Fash has already battled his fear of heights and endured hundreds of bugs and worms being poured down his pants.

Although he gained some respect from his team mates, the former footballer also came in for a pasting from others after a few drinks.

Antony initially called Fash "great", but speaking in the Bush Telegraph later, he was less than complimentary.

"The very name Fash sums up fascist," the chef spluttered. "He is a control freak, a kind control freak."

During a group discussion, glam model Catalina Guirado said celebrity was "bullshit" and pledged to move away from tabloid work when she returned to the real world.

As she poured her heart out, Danniella Westbrook revealed her recently improved mood was just an act and she would prefer to be in prison than on the show.

In a secret visit to the Bush Telegraph she said: "I hate it. I just hate it here.

"I'd rather be doing six months in Holloway than be here. At least you get visitation and a phonecall there."

Despite revealing she would prefer prison to the show, the odds of Danni winning were reduced dramatically from 16-1 to 10-1 by bookmakers Ladbrokes.

William Hill insisted the actress remained the outsider at 16-1 along with model Cat.

Phil remained the overall favourite with both bookies; Ladbrokes offered odds of 6-4 and William Hill 11-8.

Trailing in second place was Antony at 4-1 with William Hill, while Ladbrokes has put both Antony and Linda Barker in second position at 5-1.
