It is a truth universally acknowledged that at any given moment, a TOWIE star could be about to encounter an awkward moment.

And that is something Jessica Wright almost had to deal with as she prepared to film scenes for the popular ITVBe show on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old beauty looked lovely as she arrived to shoot for the day, but she almost bumped into co-stars Lauren Pope and Dan Edgar - her ex - while they were out on a date.

Jess and handsome lad Dan had rekindled their very fleeting but potentially hot romance at the end of series 14 of the show in April.

But it was later revealed by their co-stars that nothing else happened between the two, and their budding relationship quietly fizzled out.

And now it seems Dan has turned his attentions to Lauren, as the pair were seen arriving at Romford's Brickyard Bar for a date.

However, the pair kept their distance, perhaps after having seen Jess nearby and not wishing to cause any awkwardness.

If Jess - whose ex-boyfriend Ricky Rayment is now engaged to Geordie Shore beauty Marnie Simpson - was feeling bothered by her TV star pal's date with her former fling, she didn't show it.

The stunning reality star looked amazing, if not a little overdressed for daytime, in a plunging bright blue maxi dress.

She glammed up the look further with a colourful statement necklace resting on her bare decolletage, grey peep-toe heels and a fluffy turquoise clutch.

As ever, her long brunette locks were styled in large, tumbling curls, and her make-up was perfect for an evening out on the town.

Ready for her date, Lauren - who has previously been unlucky in love - went all-out, donning a very low-cut plunging white summer dress, that certainly left little to the imagination in terms of her chest.

The pretty frock billowed around her slim figure as she stepped out, the weather not playing fair on the day.

Meanwhile handsome gent Dan kept it casual in skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, boots and a black jacket.

In recent episodes of the Essex-based show, which is now in its 15th season, things had appeared to be heating up between Lauren and Dan when on a group date with their co-stars.

It also later transpired that they had appeared close while in Marbella last month, as they filmed the special episodes with the cast.

Jess had looked to be getting into a steamy union with footballer Connor Wickham while in the sun-soaked Spanish resort, but they haven't been spotted together since.

Elsewhere, Ferne McCann was also present on Wednesday, arriving at the bar along with Jess.

The fashionable Essex beauty rocked a little black t-shirt dress and looked as impeccable as ever, despite limping along with a huge cast on her foot.

The stunner recently revealed that she had torn ligaments in her ankle after falling down during a netball game with pals.
