Fashion is the asset that's brought Kanye West closer to friends he never thought he'd be making.

The 38-year-old - cloaked in a purple velvet robe - was networking with the fashion elite on Tuesday night and even cosied up for a picture with exquisite Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton, 54.

Finding himself in his element, Kanye showed off his softer side and flashed a rare, genuine smile as he flew solo at the Paris Fashion Week event.

Tilda looked elegant in a gold pyjama-style suit that set off her platinum, swept-back pixie haircut and make-up free image.

The waif-like Hollywood moviestar was captured in conversation with All Day rap artist Kanye as they enjoyed a debrief with designer Haider Ackermann At Le Grand Vefour.

Haute Couture fashion week is just one of the dates in Kanye's diary after he turned his hand to fashion design in 2009.

Faithful wife Kim Kardashian, who's usually the centre of attention at such events, left the budding designer to his devices as she stuck by her sister Kourtney's side back in California.

Along with their only child, two-year-old North West, Kim visited Disneyland, Anaheim to celebrate Kourtney's daughter Penelope celebrate her third birthday.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans will know that this year, father Scott Disick (Kourtney's long-term partner) is noticeably absent from the celebrations after the couple reportedly split.

Kim and younger sibling Khloe have been supporting their eldest sister in her time of need, along with mother Kris Jenner and her boyfriend Cory Gamble.

Kim paid tribute to her husband even so, and donned a 'Yeezus' tour T-shirt with a pair of his popular Yeezy Boost running shoes.

Kanye and Kim are expecting their second child together and only recently renewed their wedding vows after one very loved-up year together.
