The foursome posed for photos at the El Pardo Palace in Madrid on day-two of their visit to the city.

Letizia styled her bob into an elegant chignon and accessorised her simple dress with silver earrings, a silver bracelet, black stiletto court shoes and a black clutch.

The First Lady of Peru looked similarly elegant in a navy blue dress that was embellished with black sequins, accessorising simply with diamond earrings and a pair of black court shoes.

Their husbands both opted for tailored dark blue suits and crisp white shirts for the event.

Yesterday the Spanish royals welcomed the Peruvian politician and his wife as they arrived in the  capital yesterday.

As a nod to the searing Spanish heat, Letizia began the day wearing a pristine white structured peplum-style top and pencil skirt.

By lunchtime though, she had changed into a tailored white blouse, stylish black-and-white reed-patterned skirt and sharp-looking black heels.

The South American country's political contingency arrived at the Spanish capital for a tour of El Pardo Palace by King Felipe VI and Letizia yesterday morning.

It was a friendly meeting and a fashion masterclass from Letizia, who perfectly complemented the clean lines of her all-white dress with a nude-coloured patent clutch bag, peep-toe heels in an identical shade and a classic pair of black sunglasses.

Her usually straight bob was relaxed with gentle waves, making the Queen appear the epitome of Spanish elegance.

It's been a busy summer for the Spanish royals; last month they celebrated two years since King Felipe, 47, ascended the throne, replacing his father Juan Carlos.

The couple, who have two children, Princess Leonor, 9, and Princess Sofia, 7, have just returned from South America themselves, having visited Mexico in late June.

Former journalist Letizia certainly seemed to enjoy the time spent chatting to Peruvian First Lady Nadine, who was wearing a deep blue dress with a sash detail at the waist.

No doubt the Spanish-speaking ladies skirted over the Peruvian President's recent unpopularity.

Mr Ollanta Humala Tasso's approval rating has taken a hit in Peru in recent months, something that has been put largely down to criticism of his wife's finances. The president has been in power for four years.

Both Humala and Heredia are both constitutionally barred from running in 2016 and their party has yet to announce a presidential candidate.
