'I will never write a book': Ringo Starr reveals he won't dish on The Beatles as he celebrates turning 75 in Hollywood

Ringo Starr celebrated his 75th birthday in Hollywood on Tuesday.

During the event, he told Showbiz411 that he will never dish on the Beatles, the band he was a part of from 1962 to 1970.

'I will never write a book,' the British musician said, shutting down the possibility of his involvement in a revealing memoir about the rock group that made history.

The star told reporter Leah Sydney, 'I [talk about my life] on record.

'There’s a track on the last album [Postcards from Paradise] that deals with my life in Liverpool, in Rory and The Hurricanes [his first group] and with the Beatles. That’s how I’m doing it.'

He added, 'So I’m not going to be sitting down writing a book. Other people are writing books but they don’t really relate to me, I don’t feel.'

The festivities kicked-off at 11:45 a.m. and Starr was surrounded by friends, filmmaker David Lynch, Eagles guitarist-songwriter Joe Walsh and musician Edgar Winter, among others.

Starr's family including his wife Barbara Bach and her sister Marjorie  also showed their support.

Although Paul McCartney did not grace his presence to wish his former bandmate a birthday cheers, McCartney and Yoko Ono did extend their well-wishes to the legend via social media.

Unfortunately, unlike his 70th birthday party in New York City, there was not another Beatles reunion on Tuesday, but the Don’t Pass Me By creator did speak on the band.

Starr already has credits as a book author.

He penned the children’s book, Octopus’ Garden, published in 2014 and named after one of two of the Beatles tracks he wrote.

In addition to toasting to his quarter of a century mark, Starr also promoted his Love & Peace campaign, which he began 10-years ago at his 65th birthday celebration.

Starr spoke on how the campaign came to be, telling the press that it was all an ‘accident.’

‘We got lucky, somebody asked the question of what do I want for my birthday? I answered it, I said I wanted people to say 'peace and love' at noon on the 7th,’ the composer told the Press Association.

The jubilee also included a huge sheet cake, decorated in white, pink, purple and blue frosting and a huge gold peace sign sprawled right in between the words ‘Happy Birthday Ringo, Peace & Love.’

With help from his wife Barbara, the guest of honor cut the first slice of his delicious looking cake.

In the theme of ‘peace & love,’ Starr was also treated to heartfelt toasts and stories from some of the party-goers of which he has been friends with for decades.

‘In high school when I was a freshman, a Beatles album came out, and I sat in my bedroom for hours and played it,’ Walsh recalled. ‘I would read the cover, back then they had covers and the album was round and big for you younger people, over and over, and I would listen to the drum part. I just wanted to meet one of the Beatles one day so bad,’ he continued.

‘Careful what you pray for. Here we are today, it’s Ringo’s 75th birthday, and he’s about 35!’ Walsh concluded.
