Nothing can rain on his parade! Chris Hemsworth continues filming scenes for The Huntsman in the middle of a downpour

He's starred in his fair share of action movies.

So it came as no surprise that Chris Hemsworth didn't let a little bit of rain get in the way of filming new scenes on the set of The Huntsman on Wednesday.

The Hollywood star was spotted riding through Surrey woodland on the outskirts of London as dark storm clouds gathered overhead.

Dressed head-to-toe in leather, the Hollywood star cut a dashing figure as he was snapped riding on the back of a beautiful black horse in a forest.

Between scenes, the 31-year-old actor protected himself from the rain with an umbrella as he chatted to members of the crew.

But it seems the director eventually decided to call it a day as the weather took a turn for the worst.

Chris appeared to be in good spirits as he left the set laughing and smiling with other members of the production.

The movie - based on German fairy tale Snow White by the Brothers Grimm - is the prequel to Snow White And The Huntsman, which Chris also starred in alongside Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

Controversy swirled around the production, after Kristen, who was dating Robert Pattinson at the time, was caught in a tryst with film-maker Rupert, who was then married to Liberty Ross.

But while neither Kristen nor Rupert have returned for the spin-off movie, Charlize will again star as Queen Ravenna alongside new cast members Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Nick Frost.

Frenchman Cedric Nicolas-Troyan is directing the prequel with The Huntsman is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 22, 2016.

Elsa and Chris, who have three children, are now permanently based in Australia after the couple bought a property in Byron Bay in 2014.

Earlier this year, Hemsworth told GQ Australia that he much prefers living down under.

'We were in LA for six or seven years and then once we got the opportunity not to be there full-time, it was good to get back to Australia,' he said.

'And it's great. Quiet, coastal town - [it] couldn't be further from Hollywood, which is nice. A nice break.'
