Hungry Heart for horses! Jessica Springsteen reveals how love of riding stopped her from going off the rails in latest issue of V Magazine
She has established herself as a champion show jumper, refusing to ride on the coat tails of her famous father.
And Jessica Springsteen is proud of everything she has achieved, because she has done it on her own putting in the hard yards and effort.
The 23-year-old daughter of musician Bruce, has managed to avoid the usual pitfalls and traps that many offspring of celebrities seem to fall into.

And she puts her ability to have avoided a stint in rehab, or a brush with the law, down to a good upbringing by her parents.
Speaking to V magazine for issue 96 she said: ‘One of my friends in high school used to say, "Oh, it would be so much more fun if you were a huge brat!" But I’m pretty boring. ‘
She also revealed in the interview while her father may have made millions singing hits like ‘Born in the U.S.A’ and ‘Hungry Heart’, it is not a path she has gone down: ‘As for singing, my parents say I have a good voice, but then again, they have to say that.’

The daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, she inherited her love of horses from her mother.
Her love affair with riding when her family moved from Los Angeles to New Jersey when she was aged four.
She saw her mother on horseback and instantly wanted to follow suit.

She's been riding horses since she was a kid. And in V Magazine's latest issue, Jessica Springsteen shared her love of steeds in a series of designer ensembles.
Here Bruce Springsteen's daughter wears a vintage t-shirt dedicated to her rock-and-roll roots as well as a pair of distressed cut off shorts and a Coach peacoat.
The brunette beauty capped off her look with a Hermes scarf tied around her head and a pair of Gucci boots on her feet. Whether you're an equestrian like Jessica, or just want to look like one, these leather numbers are the perfect choice.

Jessica, who also attends Duke University has been show jumping since she was 15 and spent 18 years working on being the best she can be.
She has invested a lot of time, effort and determination into her chosen field: ‘You learn discipline and how to be committed to something at a young age because they’re such special animals and they deserve to be treated the right way.
‘You can’t just blow it off after school like, Oh, I don’t feel like going today.
Precision: Jessica added that it also involves communication and balance
‘They need you and it really teaches you at a young age to be committed to something.
‘And I think it gave me a lot of confidence by training really hard and having positive results. I mean, there’s no better feeling than seeing your hard work pay off.’
Jessica is pragmatic about the results and what being a world class show jumper involves: ‘There’s an incredible amount of communication, balance, and precision involved.

‘It took me 18 years of training to get to this level. You have to keep plugging away and getting stronger and better.
‘And it’s like any sport—you’re not going to win all the time.”
The brunette has competed in many international horse shows, representing America in competitions including the Show Jumping World Cup and the Longines Global Champions Tour 2013 in London.

She was also an alternate rider for the 2012 US Olympic team, and is also a Gucci equestrian ambassador.
She splits her time between training at Miami’s South Beach, and Stratford-on-Avon, in England, where her trainer lives, owning several horses.
According to PageSix, Jessica is dating Argentina-born sportsman and model, Nic Roldan . He is a founding member of Aspen Polo Club, owns about 30 polo ponies and comes from a polo-playing dynasty.

Jessica has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in her field and consistently ranks in the top 50 in the world.
Fashion house Gucci has been so impressed with her prowess they have made her one of their equestrian ambassadors.
She now sits alongside Monaco Royal Charlotte Casiraghi and Australian show jumper Edwina Tops-Alexander.

She said of working with the fashion brand and the two women: ‘I remember going to Europe for the first time for a competition four or five years ago and seeing Charlotte and Edwina wearing Gucci and just thinking: “Oh my God, they look so amazing.”
‘I really looked up to them as riders as well. They’re amazing riders and they’re both such amazing people—so sweet and kind.’
