The trailer opened with Bernie's love interest portrayed Holliday Grainger declaring that she wasn't afraid of the ocean.

'I'm not afraid of the water, Bernie. It scares me at night, that's all. You can't see what's underneath,' she revealed.

The trailer showed a blossoming romance between the two was interrupted by a swift and strong storm hitting the East Coast.

As word came in that a T-2 oil tanker split in half Warrant Officer Daniel Cluff, played by Eric Bana, ordered Bernie to assemble a four-man crew to attempt a rescue mission.

The sinking tanker SS Pendleton with 30 sailors trapped aboard fell under the command of first assistant engineer Ray Sybert, portrayed by Casey Affleck, who rallied the crew to try and ride out the storm.
