Fenerbahce are hopeful they can reach agreement with Manchester United for Robin van Persie after further talks on Wednesday.
The Turkish club had initially offered £4.7million for the 31-year-old striker who has been offered a three-year contract with the option of an extra year.
United value Van Persie, who has one year left on his contract, at £10m. The club insisted no deal was in place at the weekend but the Dutchman is understood to be considering the move rather than risk being on the periphery of the Red Devils' squad next season.

The Dutchman arrived at the Carrington training ground as he returned for pre-season training on Monday
Van Persie joined United from Arsenal in August 2012 for a fee of £24million.
The striker has scored 58 times in 105 games for the Red Devils and impressed in his debut season, winning the Premier League's Golden Boot award as he finished top scorer.
United also want £10million for defender Jonny Evans who is a target for West Bromwich Albion. The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract.
Torino defender Matteo Darmian has agreed to join United for £12.7m which could rise to £14.4m on performances.
AC Milan, Darmian's first club, are also due to receive around £287,000 as part of a five per cent sell-on clause.
Meanwhile, Preston North End have signed United striker Will Keane on a season-long loan.
