MATT WOOSNAM: Jonathan Woodgate is contemplating retirement after manager Aitor Karanka confirmed he will not play for Middlesbrough this season .

Talks are underway about a possible coaching role for the 35-year-old who has endured an injury-ravaged career and played only nine games last season.

Karanka said: 'I was speaking with him and the chairman is speaking with him. It’s about finding the best option for us and for Woody.

MATT BARLOW: Crystal Palace will turn their attention to a bid to sign Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers once they complete a club record deal for Yohan Cabaye.

Palace boss Alan Pardew has assured Cabaye that he has plans for more ambitious transfer targets this summer with a new centre-forward a top priority.

Loic Remy is top of the list, with Pardew attempting to reunite two French players at Selhurst Park who combined to such good effect for him at Newcastle.

MATT WOOSNAM: Yohan Cabaye has undergone a medical ahead of a move to Crystal Palace after the club agreed a record fee for the midfielder.

Cabaye arrived in London on Thursday with the Eagles' club physio Alex Manos, donning a sharp suit ahead of his £12.8m move.

The move is the one of the biggest in the south London side's history and could help propel them further up the Premier League table following a 10th place finish last season.

Sevilla have completed the signing of Stoke midfielder Steven Nzonzi in a £7million deal.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Spanish side, who have inserted a £21.5m buy-out clause in his contract, after undergoing a medical on Thursday morning.

'Sevilla and Stoke City have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Steven Nzonzi, who arrived in Seville on Wednesday night,' said the club's website.

DANIEL PRESCOTT: Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is flattered by reports linking him with a Premier League move.

Manchester United have targeted the German international in recent weeks after the club's sporting director Matthias Sammer confirmed he may leave the club this summer.

Rummenigge is aware of the interest from United and revealed he will meet with the World Cup winner for talks later this summer.

JACK BEZANTS: Brazilian defender Danilo has been unveiled as a Real Madrid player and has described arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu as 'one of the best days of my life.'

The attacking full back has joined Madrid from Porto for a fee of £22.6million and has put pen to paper on a six-year contract.

'I would like to thank God for making me good at football,' the 23-year-old Danilo said.

SIMON JONES: Watford are continuing discussions with Benjamin Stambouli as they look to complete the second part of their £10million double deal with Tottenham.

Etienne Capoue joined for £6m on Monday and 24-year-old Stambouli is receptive to following.

However, the Hornets have also identified Hamburg's Valon Behrami, 30, as another option, he is available for around £3m, and is due to arrive at Colney for a medical on Friday.

Aston Villa and Sunderland remain keen on Tottenham winger Andros Townsend.

The England international winger has been determined to cement his place in Tottenham's first team but is facing an uncertain future as Mauricio Pochettino re-shapes his squad.

Tim Sherwood and Dick Advocaat would both like him but Tottenham would want around £15million for the 23-year-old.

SIMON JONES: Newcastle have been encouraged in their pursuit of Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after Roma and Porto stalled on proposed deals.

The 20-year-old has been courted by several English clubs but Newcastle made offers of £12m to £15m earlier this year and have remained in constant touch with his advisers.

SIMON JONES: Robin van Persie is joining Fenerbahce after the clubs agreed terms on Thursday.

The 31-year-old is undergoing a medical in England ahead of the proposed move to Turkey where he will sign a three year contract with the option of a fourth year.

United insisted no deal was in place last weekend when Fenerbahce confirmed their interest, however, the move has accelerated after it became clear that Louis van Gaal would not give any assurances over Van Persie's role in the first team at Old Trafford and the Dutch striker wanted to ensure he could stake a claim for next summer's European Championships.

SIMON JONES: Fenerbahce are hopeful they can reach agreement with Manchester United for Robin van Persie after further talks on Wednesday.

The Turkish club had initially offered £4.7million for the 31-year-old striker who has been offered a three-year contract with the option of an extra year.

United value Van Persie, who has one year left on his contract, at £10m. The club insisted no deal was in place at the weekend but the Dutchman is understood to be considering the move rather than risk being on the periphery of the Red Devils' squad next season.

While Danilo is predominately a defender, he is more than capable of producing the spectacular up the other end, too.

Swansea have confirmed the move of young winger Kenji Gorre to Dutch side ADO Den Haag on a one-year loan deal.

Gorre, 20, signed a new three-year contract at the Liberty Stadium on Monday after making his senior debut at Crystal Palace on the final day of last season, but will now return to his native Holland to gain further first-team experience at the Eredivisie club.

'I was delighted to sign the new deal and the loan move to Den Haag is a bonus,' Gorre told the official Swansea website.

Bunn has arrived at Villa Park following his release from the Canaries at the end of last season and he will compete with Brad Guzan for the No 1 jersey.

Villa were on the look out for a new keeper with Shay Given poised for Stoke after Mark Hughes hijacked Middlesbrough's move for the veteran shot-stopper. 

Real Madrid are set to unveil the signing of Danilo on Thursday.

The 23-year-old, who agreed a move earlier this month, has penned a six-year deal with the Spanish giants.

DAN FRANCIS: Yohan Cabaye will undergo a medical at Crystal Palace on Thursday after the club agreed a record fee for the French midfielder.

Palace will pay £10million, rising to £12.8m with add-ons, for the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain star, making him the most expensive signing in their history.

The Eagles have beaten London rivals Tottenham to snap up the former Newcastle playmaker, who moved back to France in a £19m deal last year.

MIKE KEEGAN: Manchester United have re-entered into negotiations with Southampton over Morgan Schneiderlin.

Sportsmail understands a representative of the Old Trafford club travelled to the south coast on Wednesday in a bid to thrash out a deal for the France international.

United are thought to have tabled an offer of £20million for Schneiderlin last month which was dismissed by Saints boss Ronald Koeman as 'not serious'.
