Wigging out! Chris Hemsworth's fake long locks get a helping hand... as he shows off his dangerous axe technique on the set of The Huntsman

Even with a long and rather luxurious (and questionable) wig on his head, Chris Hemsworth is one handsome gent.

And he looked as fine as ever despite needing a helping hand with his hairpiece as he continued filming for forthcoming blockbuster movie The Huntsman on Thursday.

The shoot is taking place in leafy Surrey, and the 31-year-old was continuning working on the flick after days of filming this week.

Dressed head-to-toe in leather gear, he managed to flash a cheeky, knowing smile through the woodland trees as one of the members of the crew got to work on fixing his wig.

Thanks to his tall, hulking frame - he stands at an impressive 6ft 2in - the female crewmember had to reach up in order to sort out the brown hairpiece.

The longer hairstyle has been one he's surely become accustomed to, as this is the second movie - the follow up to Snow White And The Huntsman.

After his hair was all sorted, the handsome star - famous for his role in Thor - was also seen wielding an axe whilst joking with some of the cast and crew.

Dressed head-to-toe in leather, Chris appeared to be in good spirits as he displayed his dexterity with other members of the production.

Also flanked by extras and horses in armour, the action man was also clearly keen to entertain his fellow colleagues with his rather dangerous antics.

Looking comfortable with the sharp-edged tool, he smiled as he spun it around his arm, throwing it in front of him and catching it.

The movie - based on German fairy tale Snow White by the Brothers Grimm - is the prequel to Snow White And The Huntsman, which Chris also starred in alongside Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

Controversy swirled around the production, after Kristen, who was dating Robert Pattinson at the time, was caught in a tryst with film-maker Rupert, who was then married to Liberty Ross.

But while neither Kristen nor Rupert have returned for the spin-off movie, Charlize will again star as Queen Ravenna alongside new cast members Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Nick Frost.

Earlier this year, Hemsworth told GQ Australia that he much prefers living down under.

'We were in LA for six or seven years and then once we got the opportunity not to be there full-time, it was good to get back to Australia,' he said.

'And it's great. Quiet, coastal town - [it] couldn't be further from Hollywood, which is nice. A nice break.'
