A motorcyclist riding a Harley Davidson was 'cut in half at the waist' after leading officers on a high speed chase, police said.
Patrol cars started their pursuit of Christopher Henry after suspecting he was drink driving along Broadway in Bay City, Michigan.
The 48-year-old father-of-six was seen by officers traveling at a 'high rate of speed and swerving' as he made his way onto Lafayette Street.

An obituary posted online said that Mr Henry was a 'loving caring husband, father and grandfather'
Lt David Simon told Mlive that troopers had to swerve to avoid the motorcyclist when he made his first turn.
He then accelerated away from police and continued to Madison Avenue where he 'took the curve a little bit wide'.
Investigators say he then hit the curb near a store's parking lot on the same road before striking a cable on a utility pole and hitting a tree close to it.
Simon told Mlive: 'The motorcycle continued down the road almost two blocks, another 400 feet, and came to rest.'

He added that the crash resulted in the rider being 'cut in half at the waist'.
'I've seen some nasty crashes, but it's been a while since I've seen one that bad. He hit that pretty hard.'
Mlive reports police as saying that Henry, who was from Bay City, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

In an obituary posted online, it said that Christopher (Oklahoma) Henry was a 'loving caring husband, father, and grandfather'.
It said that he 'loved his motorcycle, outdoors, working with wood, loved to sing, music, his dogs Kujo and GiGi, and living life to the fullest'.
He had six children and 13 grandchildren.
Toxicology reports may not be available for another month. The crash remains under investigation.
