Talk about a dog's dinner! Mickey Rourke wears unflattering ensemble as he takes pooch out for a meal in Beverly Hills

It was certainly a somewhat appropriate ensemble.

For Mickey Rourke looked quite the dog's dinner as he took his adorable pooch out for a meal in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

The jolly actor was grinning with glee as he showed off his unique style mode in the well-heeled area of Los Angeles.

And why not, for the Nine And A Half Weeks favourite was drawing plenty of stares in his skin-tight green running bottoms, black jacket, woolly hat, trainers and comically oversized sunglasses.

However the handsome 62-year-old's stylistic coup de grace was a fetching red neckerchief, which highlighted his rippling chest and tattoos.

Mickey also had the ultimate fashion accessory tucked under his right arm like a rugby ball - an adorable toy dog.

The pet lover famously credited his animals when he won a Golden Globe in 2009, saying: "I'd like to thank all my dogs. The ones that are here, the ones that aren't here anymore because sometimes when a man's alone, that's all you got is your dog."

But Mickey was not the only hunk on the prowl in Beverly Hills.

For the star was accompanied by his sidekick Giuseppe Franco, who looked as cool as they come in a black T-shirt, jeans and biker boots.

But life is not all fancy lunches and afternoon strolls for Mickey, who is worth an estimated $15 million.

For he is said to be gearing up to play a gay rugby player from Ireland in a film tentatively called Irish Thunder.

He also has a number of other projects coming out, including Ashby, a comedy about a dying CIA assassin. Other films featuring the actor being released this year include War Pigs and Skin Traffik.
