First day back at work! Jonathan Rhys Meyers rebounds from recent relapse to play The Clash punk icon Joe Strummer in new film London Town
He sparked concern for his well-being in May when he was pictured on the street drinking vodka straight from the bottle.
But Jonathan Rhys Meyers has put his self-confessed 'minor relapse' well and truly behind him, immersing himself in filming for new drama London Town, in which he is rumoured to be playing punk legend Joe Strummer.
The 37-year-old star was spotted on the set of The Clash-inspired film in London on Monday, looking uncannily like the reincarnation of the late British frontman.

Jonathan was clad in ripped trousers, leather boots, a slogan tee and a blazer, carrying a guitar on his back in order to portray the London Calling hit-maker.
The Tudors actor was seen performing to a small crowd on the street, with all the extras dressed in retro 1970s clothing.
Jonathan, in character as Strummer, was seen embracing excited fans of all ages after the al fresco gig.

He was joined on set by actors Dougray Scott and Daniel Huttlestone, with Derick Borte behind the camera.
The film, which also featres Natascha McElhone, is a blend of fact and fiction penned by scriptwriters Kirsten Sheridan, Sonya Gildea and Matthew Brown.
It tells the story of a a 14-year-old boy (Huttlestone) whose life is changed forever when his estranged mother (McElhone) introduces him to the music of The Clash.

When news of the film first broke, Jonathan was rumoured to be playing the boy's father, but the pictures appear to suggest otherwise.
The Bend It Like Beckham star, who is believed to have had six stints in rehab over the past few years, has been on the mend after being pictured looking worse for wear following a big night out.
Jonathan, who got engaged to actress Mara Lane last December after seven months of dating, used his fiancee's Twitter account to issue a statement explaining his distressing appearance.

And another one! The Bend It Like Beckham star gave another young admirer a big hug
'Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness during this time. I apologizes [sic] for having a minor relapse and hope that people don't think too badly of me', he wrote.
'I am on the mend and thank well wishers and sorry for my dishevelled appearance as I was on my way home from a friends and had not changed,' he continued.
'I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recovery otherwise I'm living a healthy life.'
