Drew, 40, originally replaced British star Rachel Weisz in the role of Jess, who is a town planner who lives a happy bohemian life with her partner Jago (Paddy Considine), that is until she struggles to conceive a baby.

Toni, 42, plays her best friend Milly, a high-flyer with two children and a husband Kit (Dominic Cooper) whose life is upturned when she is diagnosed with cancer.

Friends since childhood Jess and Milly can’t remember a time they didn’t share everything –secrets, clothes, even boyfriends, their differences are the glue that binds them together.

However, as Jess tries to balance her own life with being there for Milly it is only a matter of time before the pressure on their friendship becomes intolerable.

The movie charts the obstacles life throws and celebrates the bond of friendship that cannot be broken, even in life’s toughest moments.

Despite the tragedy of Milly's cancer, her pal Jess cheers her up by jokingly calling her 'Frankentits' and helping her pick out a new blonde wig.

However, things are threatened when Jess finally manages to conceive, just as her childhood pal is dealing with the disease.

Speaking of the film, director Catherine Harwicke said it 'explores the ups and down of an intense friendship.

'With our fearless actors, we’re taking this very personal story on a wild ride.'

This will be Drew’s first cinematic outing after the birth of her child and her first film since the comedy Blended, opposite Adam Sandler.

Now the mother of two children - she and husband Will Koppelman have a daughter called Olive too - Barrymore feels so satisfied with her family life that she found it difficult getting back into work mode to promote her third rom-com with Sandler.

'I didn't think I could go back to work honestly. I didn't want to be away from my kids and it just wasn't the priority,' Drew said. 'With Adam, he makes everything really safe because he really creates an environment where kids can come and be a part of it. It was a really big lesson for me.'

Miss You Already will be released in the UK on 25th September 2015.
