He posted a sad Instagram message on his daughter Penelope's third birthday on Wednesday, which led many to ask about his state of mind.

And now it has been revealed Scott Disick may have been seeking help before his latest meltdown which has led to a breakup with longtime partner Kourtney Kardashian, 36.

According to a Thursday report from US Weekly, the 32-year-old went in and out of rehab on Sunday in Florida after he went on a bender during his trip to France.

However the reality star spent just hours in the center, which is thought to be near where he is staying with rumoured ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli.

The pair were seen very hands on while he was enjoying a break on the French Riviera.

Days later he posted a forlorn message to Instagram littered with errors to celebrate his daughter Penelope's birthday.

The caption, which was coupled with a collage of photos of the tot read: '1 of the only things I'm proud off about myself. Happybdayp,'

It appeared Scott was feeling down on himself.

That may be because he has been shut out by Kourtney. On Thursday TMZ reported that she packed up his belonging and sent them to his property in Beverly Hills. 'Kourtney organized the removal of the Lord's belongings, mostly his clothing,' a source added.

However, it seems that although he appears upset over the end of his nine year relationship with Kourtney, the father of three may not think they are finished for good.

A source told People on Thursday he is not taking his split seriously: 'Scott says that he's doing fine,' the insider told the publication.

'He says that he is not upset that the relationship is over, because "over" doesn't always mean "over." He has left open the door to getting back with her.'

They added: 'But he's open to the idea that she may not forgive him and it may really be over for good, and he's okay with that, too. Right now his feeling is, whatever happens, happens.'

Despite Scott's seemingly positive outlook with pals, his apparent indecision to remain in rehab would give the impression that he may not be as happy about the situation as he is appearing.

According to TMZ, friends are now saying the only way forward to garner any chance of restoring his relaitonship with Kourtney, is to go to rehab immediately for a proper stint.

Their concern is Scott should be attending a facility instead of hosting a party scheduled for Friday night at 10ak in Las Vegas., which they believe is a dire mistake.

Meanwhile on the same day Scott spent his short spell in rehab, Kourtney was at Disneyland with their daughter Penelope and Mason, five.

She was joined by sister Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West, aged two, as well as Kris Jenner, 59, and her boyfriend Corey Gamble.

Kourtney and Penelope were seen wearing matching Tinker Bell costumes as they toured the theme park rides.

So far the 36-year-old mother-of-three has done her best to put on a brave face in public and on social media although she has not yet spoken publicly about the break up.

Meanwhile Us Weekly reported Scott is currently staying in Boca Raton.

People magazine quoted a source as revealing that the star is unwilling to face the music after being photographed getting cozy with a rumored ex Chloe Bartoli in Monaco last week.

The photo's came on the back of Kourtney becoming exasperated with Scott's continuous partying.

'He wouldn't go home, even though people told him to go home to [Kourtney] and his family,' the source told People. 'Things were already very tense between him and Kourtney.'

'It was one excuse after the other,' the source revealed. 'He said, 'I just need to stay away for another day to think things through' or 'I already have my flight planned.' The truth is, Scott was terrified.'

It emerged on Monday that Kourtney had dumped her partner, with the news coming four days after the DailyMail.com exclusively revealed the father-of-three was getting very cozy with Bartoli, a fashion stylist.

For the reality star, it was the last straw.

'It's humiliating and disrespectful,' a source said of the pictures.

Scott's decision to keep partying and invite his fans to join him has angered those who were already upset with him after he was snapped cuddling up to Bartoli

His antics came despite the fact Kourtney had allegedly pleaded with him to return to their Calabasas home in Los Angeles, where they live with their three children.

Last December, Scott purchased a 3.7 million home in Beverly Hills which he put in his name only, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

The residence, about an hour's drive from the family home in Calabasas, is likely now set to become his bachelor pad.

Last month, despite a recent stint in rehab, Scott arrived at a nightclub in Montreal so inebriated he was unable to be introduced to fans.

He's already spent time at controversial Costa Rican rehab center Rythmia Life Advancement Centre, where he checked in in March.

Scott has certainly expressed his struggle with being a devoted family man on their reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

In fact, last year, Scott went so far as to say Kourtney had kept 'suckering him' into having children.

In an episode last season, Scott was seen reacting badly when Kourtney broke the news that she was expecting their third child together.

'How many clothes does one little kid need?' he asked.

'A lot,' she answered.

'Can you shut the door for a second? I just wanted to tell you that I am pregnant,' she said with a coy smile.

Kourtney and Scott met at Joe Francis' house party in Mexico in 2006. They briefly split in 2010 reportedly due to Scott's problems with drinking.
