Can she hike in those? Fashion designer daughter-in-law of Michael Eisner eschews fleece vest and sneakers at billionaire summer camp for massive platforms, a tank top and movie star hat

  • Stacey Bendet, 36, is married to Michael Eisner's producer son Eric, 39
  • Heavily pregnant, she arrived at Sun Valley in platforms and lipstick
  • The event has been called billionaire summer camp for the big tech names and investors it attracts each year
  • No matter how famous, everyone wears a name tag at the conference
  • Bendet is the CEO of 10-year-old fashion brand Alice + Olivia
  • Revered designer Diane von Furstenberg arrived in a puffa coat
  • The conference is invite only and no media or press is allowed to attend

The world's billionaires unite in fleece vests, sneakers and name tags for 'summer camp' in Sun Valley once a year.

But Stacey Bendet, daughter-in-law of former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, did not get the memo.

Arriving at the Idaho retreat on Wednesday afternoon, the heavily pregnant fashion designer stood out among the low key media titans in platform heels, an enormous blue bead necklace, a flowing skirt, and a white fedora - with no name tag in sight.

Her towering entrance came a day after some of the world's most powerful figures - revered fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Barry Diller, Jeff Bezos, Jack Dorsey, and Sheryl Sandberg - checked in wearing t-shirts and puffa coats.

Bendet, 36, is one half of the fashion line Alice + Olivia. Her husband, Michael Eisner's son Eric Eisner, is a producer and co-owner of L+E Productions, which launched in 2006 and produces around three movies a year ranging between $5 million and $25 million.

The couple married on the Caribbean island of Anguilla in 2008 and now split their time between New York's West Village and Los Angeles with their two daughters, Eloise, six, and Scarlet, four.

Having featured twice on Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List, and 'What I Wore' in the New York Times, Bendet's personal style is a currency.

She will join the biggest names in the media, technology, fashion, and sports industries from Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and Tesla's Elon Musk to Apple's Tim Cook and Brian Zucker at this year's Allen & Company conference.

The big question now is what major deals will be made over the course of the next week.

The event focuses on talks about business and the economy and is strictly invite only, with members of the press kept at bay.

That does not stop many outlets from sending reporters each year however, hoping to get some inside scoop on what is being said and what possible deals are being made.

Barry Diller arrived with his wife Diane von Furstenberg but dismissed questions, telling reporters it was too early in the morning to talk about China.

When Tim Cook walked past, reporters asked if he felt ok about the Apple Watch, which has been something of a flop. He said nothing but raised a thumbs-up.

And Elon Musk merely grinned at photographers as he passed with his wife Talulah.

The pair have had a publicly turbulent relationship since getting together five years ago. They first married in 2010 but divorced in 2012, before marrying again in 2013 and separating months later. In January this year they reunited and friends say they plan to hold a commitment ceremony.

Musk, who is attending the event for the first time, reportedly left media moguls baffled with his opening speech outlining his vision for the future as he invests in space travel and electric cars.

Jack Dorsey, co-founder and now CEO of Twitter, was seen strolling through the grounds on a break with a trimmed beard and a leather jacket rather than sporty vest.

Other attendees to look out for this year include New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Rupert Murdoch, Universal Studios chairman Ron Meyer, Michael Bloomberg, Rupert Murdoch and his sons Lachlan and James, Airbnb's Brian Chesky, Spiegel, Netflix's Ted Sarandos, Sony Entertainment chief Michael Lynton, Yahoo!'s Marissa Mayer, The Weinstein Co.'s Harvey Weinstein, DreamWorks Animation's Jeffrey Katzenberg, Paramount's Brad Grey, CAA's Bryan Lourd, and Google's Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Eric Schmidt, to name just a few.

The event, hosted by boutique investment firm Allen & Company, has consistently attracted heavy hitters and spawned blockbuster deals including Disney's $19billion acquisition of ABC in 1995.

Roughly 300 attendees are invited each year, and an overwhelmingly majority of them are in the technology field.

This year's conference runs through Sunday and like every other year kicks off with a cookout on Tuesday and concludes with a more formal dinner hosted by Allen.

In between those invited guests take business and the economy, and hopefully make a big sale or acquisition.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter will address 'the importance of a strong partnership between private sector innovators and government' during a panel tomorrow, according to Nate Christensen, a spokesman for the U.S. Department of Defense.
