Ed Sheeran has joked his love life is 'non existent' after he was linked to Irish model Louise Johnston.

The 24-year-old singer rubbished claims he was dating the beauty after she shared a couple of photos of the pair hanging out on her Instagram page.

Speaking while co-hosting Capital London's Breakfast Show alongside Lisa Snowdon and Dave Berry on Friday morning, the Bloodstream hitmaker explained he hasn't had any romantic involvements since splitting from ex-girlfriend Athina Andrelos, 24, in March.

Probed on his love life by the cheeky twosome, Ed replied: 'It's actually non-existent at the moment. I'm not in anything.'

He continued: 'My relationship ended and then the day after it ended I was in the Middle East, Asia, South America, New Zealand – I was just gone and in my mind I had no time to settle with it. So I was just working, working, working…

'So yeah I'm still kind of in that space, I'm still in my working space. I haven't really had time to sit back and re-evaluate personal life, because I don't really have a personal life.'

Ed was speaking after The Sun newspaper claimed he had found a new flame in the form of pretty Louise.

Ed dated Athina for a year before telling Australian breakfast presenters Kyle and Jackie O their relationship had ended, on their KIIS 1065 radio show.

The pair reportedly called it quits after a row over his antics at the BRIT Awards after-party.

A source told heat magazine at the time: 'The final straw was at the after-party. It was a combination of Ed drinking too much and him being unable to deal with a girl that kept bothering them that night.

'The next day, when Athina - who works as a Food Team production assistant at The Jamie Oliver Group - drove Ed to the airport, they spoke about everything and decided to take a break because it was unfair on both of them.

'It wasn't to do with his fame, it's just how he'd deal with other people - girls - wanting to talk to him on nights out.'

Since their split Ed has also been linked to 21-year-old Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin.

Ed plays Wembley Stadium tonight - the first of three sold-out shows and his final UK shows for the X album tour.

And while he's happy to admit he's 'nervous' ahead of the gig, he's assured fans that, after a bit of advice from Elton John, he'll be playing all his big hits.
