New mom Eva Mendes is in talks to reprise her role as Agent Monica Fuentes in upcoming Fast & Furious 8

Recently Eva Mendes has been busy focusing on her fashion and beauty lines with New York and Company and Circa beauty, and taking care of nine-month-old daughter Esmeralda.

But it seems the 41-year-old is ready to return to acting, as We Got This Covered has reported that the star is in talks to appear in Fast & Furious 8.

She is reportedly set to reprise her role as agent Monica Fuentes from 2 Fast 2 Furious, a role she also made cameo for in Fast Five.

The publication reported that Universal had made it known that they would like to work with the star again back in April, though now it seems to be a done deal.

According to a source close to production, the current plot of the upcoming eighth film actually hinges on Eva's character, so it's basically a given that she will sign on.

Eva's Fuentes will allegedly be teaming up with Dom Toretto and Luke Hobbs, played by Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson respectively, and the rest of the gang to take down a new villain in New York City.

It's been a while! Eva's character also made a cameo in 2011's Fast Five, but this return would reportedly be a big one, with the plot centering around the actress

Helen Mirren and Jason Statham have also been rumored to be joining the cast as villains for the eighth, film, with the latter reprising his role as Deckard Shaw from Furious 7.

The publication's source could not confirm that either had definitely signed on, though Jason did tell Access Hollywood in June that he would be back for part eight.

Universal is apparently considering young actor Tommy Hatto for the role of a racer with a close relationship to Fuentes.

The relatively unknown actor had a small part in Thor: The Dark World and is familiar with Eva from auditioning for the lead in 2014's Lost River.

Let your style bloom in a floral frock like Eva

Eva Mendes looked fun and flirty while out in West Hollywood, California. The sexy Latina looked gorgeous with her lightly tousled hair and her retro floral dress, not to mention her deep brown leather clogs.

The mamacita is known to love her floral prints, she loves Erdem's floral dresses as well as NY & Company's. In case you didn't know she has a collection at NY & Co. that is filled with printed patterns and floral print. It's definitely worth checking out (click right to check out the Eva Mendes collection).

Unfortunately the exact dress that Eva is wearing is unavailable, so we went ahead and found some fun, flirty and floral options for you on our style deck (below).

So far, only Vin, Dwayne, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson are certain to reprise their roles in the eighth film - though Eva is believed to be ready to sign on.

Casting aside, Fast & Furious 8 is still a while off following the record-smashing numbers of the latest sequel, Furious 7.

The most recent picture, featuring the late Paul Walker, grossed $1.5 billion, making it the fourth highest grossing film of all time.

Universal is reportedly still sorting out the story for the upcoming sequel, and aiming release April, 14, 2017.
