What did I do wrong, mommy? Couple selling their home are horrified to discover daughter, 2, covered herself in paint and then left footprints all over the house

  • Anistyn, 2, got into pot of white paint and then smeared it everywhere
  • 'We're still cleaning paint off the floor,' said mom Victoria Farmer
  • Anistyn has previous, having also colored herself with sharpies, finger paint, and water colors

It's an experience familiar to any parent with young children: you are busy in one room making dinner or feeding the baby while your toddler plays elsewhere in the house. Then you realize things have gone quiet. Too quiet.

One mother from Colorado had just such a moment this week, and was horrified when she rushed into her living room to find her two-year-old daughter covered from head to toe in white paint - and a trail of footprints and mess on the walls and fireplace of her home.

What's worse, Victoria Farmer and her husband had been painting the interior of their home because they were trying to sell it. Anistyn, it seems, had other ideas.

'It was horrible,' Farmer told 7News. 'She got into the bucket and submerged herself'

'I said "Anistyn," and she just stood there frozen and didn't say anything.'

Farmer yelled for her sister to come and help her clean-up the toddler.

The paint came off pretty quickly after they wiped her with a wet rag, though white footprints were left all over the home.

'The paint came off pretty easily, but I don't think she wanted it to come off,' Farmer said.

'We're still cleaning paint off the floor.'

Farmer explained that she and her husband had been painting the walls before the children's bedtime to improve the decor so that they could sell the house.

Farmer was unable to get the lid fully back on the pot when she finished painting, but never thought it would present an opportunity for Anistyn to get into mischief.

'I look like an irresponsible parent, but she's just really quick,' Farmer said.

'I feel like I should make a book of her insane things.'

Fox reports that just as Farmer thought her child's antics were over for one week, she rolled out several feet of drawing paper as though she were going to start making mischief again.

She shared a picture of the scene on Facebook with the caption: 'Was just doing a phone interview on this crazy child and in true Anistyn fashion, she rolls out her drawing paper. She must think I’m ready for round 2. I’m not so sure I could handle it haha.

Farmer said her daughter just turned two but that her 'terrible twos' started many months in advance.
