She's under her umbrella! Rihanna keeps dry while stepping outside amid downpour in New York City

Rihanna stood under her umbrella on Thursday while out in rainy New York City.

The 27-year-old singer evoked memories of her 2007 hit song Umbrella and its popular video as she carried her black rainshade in the SoHo area of Manhattan.

The pop star stepped out into the wet weather wearing a white blouse under a black coat as she carried a drink in one hand and her umbrella with the other.

Rihanna had her red-tinted hair pulled back and sported a shoulder-length light brown ponytail.

The Grammy-winning singer later was spotted under her umbrella wearing a short shirt dress and white trainers.

The singer last week released a new music video for her single B**** Better Have My Money.

RiRi, who was born Robyn Fenty, recruited a woman called Sanam off Instagram to play a henchwomen in the video.

'It's overwhelming, because I'm hella normal. I work at a plant store,' the 25-year-old Seattle native told Vice this week.

She followed me on Instagram on a Wednesday night, and then I was in LA on Friday morning. It was crazy.'

Sanam added: 'She's so sweet. She was showering us with compliments. She is so f***ing real and down-to-earth, which is the corniest thing to say about a famous person, but she really is.'

Rihanna has been hard at work recording her eighth studio album rumoured to be titled 'R8'. A release date has yet to be announced.
