'She would have told me': Cody Simpson says mother Angie joining Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills is just a 'rumour' after ex Gigi Hadid's mom Yolanda starred on show

His mother Angie was recently tipped to be the newest cast member of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

But according to Australian singer Cody Simpson, the rumour is simply just that. 

Appearing on Extra at Universal Studios in Hollywood on Thursday, the 18-year-old told the show's presenter Charissa Thompson: 'That was a rumour I heard'.

He added: 'She would have told me by now', referring to his mother who moved to Los Angeles from the Gold Coast back in 2010 to help support her son's growing music career. 

Earlier this month it was reported by NW magazine in Australia that the wife of Brad Simpson would be replacing Brandi Glanville on the hit US reality show.

'She'll be a new Housewife on the show soon,' a source reportedly close to the family told the publication.

Brandi, 42, left the show following season five, after the blonde beauty was fired from the cast.

If Angie had been cast on the show, she would have likely already known at least one RHOBH alumna, as Cody's ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid's mother Yolanda Foster has appeared on the show.

Since moving to Los Angeles from the Gold Coast back in 2010 to help support her son's growing music career, Angie has been living the high life of red carpet events and celebrity parties. 

Meanwhile, Yolanda has been a part of the series since 2012 but has temporary stepped back from the show to focus on her health.

The mother of models Gigi and Bella is reportedly suffering from Lyme disease. 

In May Cody and Gigi, 20, called time on their romance and announced their split in a statement to E! News. 

Part of their joint statement read: 'They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other's biggest supporters.'

Since the split, Cody has been spotted with Selena Gomez, whom he has denied he is dating, and more recently Maxim Model Carmella Rose.
