Megan Fox is the ultimate action hero as she gets back to her butt-kicking best to shoot new fight scenes for TMNT 2

She's one of Hollywood's most beautiful actresses but Megan Fox certainly isn't afraid to get her hands dirty in an action scene or two.

The 29-year-old star was pictured putting up a serious fight against a footsoldier as she filmed scenes for her upcoming movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, in New York City on Friday.

Working into the early hours, the Jennifer's Body actress was bursting with energy as she she shot scenes that appeared to show her taken captive by an evil ninja, as she fought to protect a cryptic purple prop.

Rocking a casual ensemble for the scene, Megan showcased her slender legs in a pair of tight skinny jeans, which she teamed with a simple white vest top and a fitted brown jacket.

The star's luscious brunette locks, which were styled into soft waves, flew around her face as she attempted to elbow the villain in the chest and escape.

The actress plays the role of April O'Neil in the movie, a close companion of the teenage ninja terrapins Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.

Join the khaki army in Megan's Belstaff jacket

For Megan Fox, looking good is a military operation. Whether she's filming for scenes for a new movie or enjoying some family time she never steps out of line.

This time she's dressed as her Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 alter ego, TV news reporter April O'Neil. But this is an outfit we could see Megan wearing in her everyday life! Between the distressed skinny jeans, sneakers and utility jacket, it's effortlessly casual and super practical.

Thanks to the little logo on the sleeve and the signature four pocket design, Megan's jacket is instantly recognizable. It's by Belstaff, a British brand we've spotted on everyone from David Beckham and Benedict Cumberbatch to Blake Lively and Kate Moss. Click the link (right) if you want to join this stylish club.

Alternatively, we've found some great military-inspired high street options to help you stand to attention and stand out. Billabong's would make a great layer for festival season.

The first instalment of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, released in 2014, opened to poor reviews, but did gross $65 million on its opening weekend.

But this isn't the only action-flick Megan could be sinking her teeth into.

Reports are claiming the actress is in talks to star in the fifth instalment of the Transformers franchise.

After appearing in the franchise's first two movies, Fox famously got into a heated exchange with director Michael Bay following the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The duo have since made peace, as was made evident when Fox was cast as April in TMNT, which was produced by Bay's production company, Platinum Dunes.

Aside from work, Megan - who has been married to actor Brian Austin Green since 2010 - raises two sons, Noah, two, and Bodhi, 17 months.

Megan and Brian first met on the set of Hope and Faith in 2004, when she was 18 and he was 30.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will hit theatres in June 2016.
