Van Persie's former Holland boss Louis van Gaal could not give the striker any assurances next season
'We worked very hard, until midnight. We received five faxes, sent six faxes and finally it was finished,' Yildirim was quoted as saying by the Fanatik sports daily and Hurriyet newspaper.
'The Van Persie transfer is done and one more star has joined the Fenerbahce constellation,' he added.
Turkish press reports claim the 31-year-old will officially sign his contract at the club's stadium on Monday for a fee in the region of £3.4m.

The Turkish club are also reported to be interested in Chelsea's Ramires and Arjen Robben of Bayern Munich
Fenerbache have embarked on a summer spending spree in a bid to challenge arch rivals Galatasaray, having finished second behind them in the Super Lig last season.
Van Persie will join former United team-mate Nani, who arrived for £4.26m in June, along with highly rated Danish centre-back Simon Kjaer from French side Lille.
And, that may not yet be the extent of their ambitions with reports they could also be monitoring Chelsea's Brazilian midfielder Ramires and van Persie's Holland compatriot Arjen Robben.
