British boxer Josh Kelly secures bronze at European Games following defeat by home fighter Parviz Baghirov in Baku

Josh Kelly was forced to settle for a bronze medal at the European Games in Baku after losing his welterweight boxing semi-final to Azerbaijan's Parvis Baghirov at the Crystal Hall. The classy Kelly could consider himself unfortunate to find himself on the wrong end of a unanimous points decision in an entertaining bout that could have gone either way. The 21-year-old acquitted himself well in a tight first but found himself with a mountain to climb after a less impressive second in which Baghirov's more accurate, probing shots paid off.
